15 Films, 15 Cities, 15 Intros.
This summer, we are thrilled to invite you once again to celebrate cinema and film cultures together with us in public space, in the heart of Vienna! As a multifaceted place of life, encounters, and culture, the city belongs to everyone. What this truly means, especially when this freedom is in jeopardy, is the focus of this year’s edition of the festival. On 15 summer evenings, a kaleidoscope of cinematic forms, urban spaces, everyday realities, and stories from 15 cities, from the metropolis to the periphery and beyond, unfolds on the big screen. In 15 current international and Austrian feature, hybrid, and documentary films along with accompanying events, you will be whisked away – as always with free admission – on a cinematic city trip. Each evening before the screenings, introductions by filmmakers, artists, and activists reveal a multitude of inspiring perspectives on the presented works. We look forward to dive into the rhythms of diverse urban surroundings and share touching, intriguing, and entertaining cinematic experiences that provide food for thought, provoke discussions, and animate us to dream and to act.
