17 summer evenings, 17 films, 17 intros.
After two challenging years, Kaleidoskop returns to Karlsplatz to once again celebrate cinema in public space and bring a diverse selection of films to the big screen in the heart of Vienna. The fourth edition of the festival highlights the diversity of urban societies and presents a kaleidoscope of cinematic forms, urban spaces, everyday realities and stories from seventeen cities, from the metropolis to the periphery and beyond. Daring manoeuvres in concrete jungles, blazing heat, collective action and political struggles. Different forms of coexistence and community. Speculative fictions and traces in time and space. Tales of defiance and delightful observations. The city, always in motion and constantly changing. Intros by filmmakers, artists and activists set the tone and offer a diversity of perspectives on each night’s film. We are looking forward to diving into the rhythms of diverse urban surroundings and sharing a captivating, touching and amusing cinematic experience that provides food for thought, encourages debate and inspires us to dream and to act.
